Jennifer Oman
Jennifer Oman began her performance career in Minneapolis dancing with Loyce Houlton’s “Nutcracker Fantasy” at the State Theatre. A year later, she began working with Child’s Play Theatre Company and later toured the country with the Children’s Theatre Company’s “Animal Fables from Aesop” in a principle dancing role. The Children’s Theatre Company, among other theatres, is where she continued performing until graduating from high school.

At 18, Jennifer was accepted into the BFA Musical Theatre program at Emerson College. During this time, she performed in several dance and theatre shows at the Majestic State Theatre in Boston’s Theatre District including “Follies,” where she appeared as young Stella, and during parents’ weekend, where she had a principle singing role. Before graduating, she was also acting professionally with Company One at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Upon graduation, Jennifer returned to Minneapolis to gain experience in theatre, dance, print, and film. She studied long form improv at the Brave New Workshop and performed in their alumni improv evening, “Six Ring Circus.” She also appeared twice as a performer at the Minnesota Fringe Festival while taking on roles in other small theatre companies, films and print projects. Jennifer continued to develop her dance practice by teaching jazz and participating in the Zenon Dance scholarship program, where she danced in multiple term concerts.

Returning to the East Coast in 2008, Jennifer has made New York her home. Currently, she appears as a cabaret singer at Don’t Tell Mama and the Duplex Cabaret Theatre and was recently in the off Broadway productions of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “Out of the Blue.”

She is immensely grateful to be living the adventurous life of a performer and hopes to expand her reach in the New York scene. Her gratefulness for her family and friends extends beyond words, because they make the journey worth it.
